Lemon Loaf

This will be your new favorite lemon dessert. This lemon loaf is almost exactly like the Starbucks lemon loaf. This lemon loaf is bursting with lemon flavor and has sweet lemon icing.

Serving and Storage

Let cool completely before serving. Store lemon loaf in air tight container for 4-5 days. For long term storage you can freeze the lemon loaf. Wrap lemon loaf in plastic wrap completely, and store in freezer for up to 5 months.

Lemon Loaf Recipe

Ingredients

 

Lemon loaf:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup of milk

Lemon icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

 

Step 1: Preheat and prepare:

Preheat your oven to 350F. Spray one loaf pan with non-stick spray and set aside.

Step 2: Mix ingredient together:

In a medium size bowl combine sugar, butter, and eggs until fully mixed. Mix in lemon juice, lemon zest, baking powder, and milk when fully combined add in flour.

Step 3: Bake lemon loaf:

Pour batter into pre-papered loaf pans. Bake lemon loaf for 40-45 minutes. When a toothpick is inserted and it is clean or has little crumbs lemon loaf is done. Let cool before making glaze.

Step 4: Make icing:

In a small bowl mix together powdered sugar and lemon juice until glaze it made. Once lemon loaf is cooled pour glaze over the top. Let glaze harden before cutting into and serving.
