Wine Cake

Who knew boxed cake, vanilla pudding, and white wine could make such a good cake. This cake is to die for an absolute perfect cake for anytime of the year. This is a must try recipe to share with everyone.

Wine Cake Recipe

Prep Time 15 minutes             
Cook Time 45 minutes             Yield 10 slices
Total Time 60 minutes            Skill level  medium 

Ingredients

 

Cake:

  • 1 package yellow cake mix

  • 1 package vanilla instant pudding

  • ¾ cup vegetable oil

  • ¾ cup white wine

  • 3 eggs

  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

Glaze:

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • ¼ cup water

  • ¼ cup white wine

Directions

 

Step 1: Prepare for baking:

Preheat the oven to 350F and lightly spray a bundt pan. Set aside.

Step 2: Mix cake ingredients:

In a medium size bowl combine cake mix, pudding, vegetable oil, white wine, eggs and nutmeg until fully mixed.

Step 3: Bake cake:

In prepared bundt pan place chopped walnut at the bottom of the ban. Pour cake batter over the top and bake for 40-45 minutes

Step 4: Make glaze:

While cake is cooking make glaze. In a small pot combine brown sugar, water white wine and butter. Place pot on medium heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling let boil for 2 minutes.

Step 5: Cool and Serve:

Once cake is done pour hot glaze over the hot cake. Let cake with glaze cool for 30 minutes. Take cake out of bundt pan and let cool before serving.
